Create and manage high availability group
High Availability Group is a feature that ensures high availability by grouping load balancer nodes with identical configurations that are deployed in different availability zones.
Group load balancer nodes that meet the High availability group requirements to maintain service continuity even if a failure occurs in one of the availability zones.
Create high availability group
To create a high availability group, follow these steps:
- Go to KakaoCloud Console > Beyond Networking Service > Load Balancing > 고가용성 그룹.
- Select the [Create high availability group] button at the top right.
- In the Create high availability group screen, select the load balancer type and mode to associate with the high availability group. Then, choose the VPC and select load balancer nodes in each availability zone of that VPC that match the selected type and mode.
- After selecting and entering all configuration values, select the [Create] button. You can change the associated load balancer nodes after the group is created. However, the originally specified type and mode must remain unchanged.
View high availability group list
-
Go to KakaoCloud Console > Beyond Networking Service > Load Balancing > 고가용성 그룹.
-
Check the list of high availability groups. You can use filters to search for specific groups.
Category Description Name Name entered during creation ID ID assigned during creation DNS name DNS name generated based on the entered name. If the mode is Internet boundary
, communication is possible using this DNS nameMode Public IP configuration
- Internal: Has a private IP and handles internal VPC traffic
- Internet boundary: Has a public IP and supports communication over internetProvisioning status Indicates whether the group is successfully created or is being modified or deleted Operational status Indicates whether the created group is in available state Type Application, Network, or Direct Server Return VPC VPC specified during group creation Availability zone Number of availability zones currently in use. Represents the number of associated load balancer nodes
- Minimum of 1 can be set, but 2 or more are recommended for high availabilityCreation date Date of group creation [More] icon Includes actions such as modifying description, changing subnet and associated LB nodes, deleting group
View high availability group details
-
Go to KakaoCloud Console > Beyond Networking Service > Load Balancing > 고가용성 그룹.
-
Select the high availability group to view.
-
In the detail screen, check detailed information and network mapping.

Modify description of high availability group
-
Go to KakaoCloud Console > Beyond Networking Service > Load Balancing > 고가용성 그룹.
-
In the group list, select the [More] icon of the group whose description you want to modify.
-
Select Modify description from the [More] menu.
-
In the Modify description popup, change the description and select the [Apply] button.
Modify association with subnets and LB nodes
-
Go to KakaoCloud Console > Beyond Networking Service > Load Balancing > High Availability Group.
-
In the group list, select the [More] icon of the group to modify subnet and associated load balancer nodes.
-
Select Modify association with subnets and LB nodes from the [More] menu.
-
In the popup window, configure the desired associations and select the [Modify] button.
- Availability zone: Only one can be set per availability zone
- Subnet: Displays subnets created in the selected availability zone of the specified VPC
- LB node: Displays list of load balancer nodes in the selected subnet that match the type and mode specified at group creation
- Minimum number of associated load balancer nodes is 1, but 2 or more must be configured to ensure high availability.
- If the detailed settings (e.g., listener configuration) differ across nodes in different availability zones, the service may not function properly. Ensure consistent settings.
- The
kr-central-2
region supports 3 availability zones.
Delete high availability group
-
Go to KakaoCloud Console > Beyond Networking Service > Load Balancing > High Availability Group.
-
In the group list, select the [More] icon of the group you want to delete.
-
