Transit Gateway overview
Transit Gateway is a centralized network hub that allows for easy and flexible connections between multiple Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and on-premises networks. It supports Multi-AZ (Multiple Availability Zones), a key technology that improves the fault tolerance and availability of applications, enabling disaster recovery and enhancing overall system availability.
Only Project Admin can access the transit gateway.
Purpose and use cases
With the transit gateway, you can meet various network requirements in a cloud environment. By controlling multiple VPCs with a single virtual router, centralized management is possible, enabling more efficient network configuration and security management.
- Connecting cloud and on-premises environments for a hybrid cloud setup
- Connecting with global CSP clouds for a multi-cloud setup
- Efficiently connecting VPCs from different accounts to simplify networks
Features
Transit Gateway plays a critical role in simplifying management of connections between VPCs and improving security and performance by providing centralized network management, scalability, security, and efficient data transfer.
Securing global-level technology
By possessing global-level technology, it supports Multi Cloud, ensuring free and fast communication speeds between clouds. It implement connections between VPCs without any performance degradation using globally standardized methods.
Implementing various architectures
It is easy to implement various architectures, such as centralized or isolated routing, and is particularly efficient in implementing large-scale network architectures.
Achieving high availability through Multi-AZ
Supporting Multi-AZ, a key technology that improves the fault tolerance and availability of applications, it enables disaster recovery, thereby enhancing the overall system availability.
Achieving network operational efficiency
Instead of complex network configurations, simple and flexible connections can reduce the burden of network operations, increasing efficiency.
