Transit gateway sharing

When a transit gateway created in the KakaoCloud Console is shared with another project, users from the other project can connect Attachments. We define the users of the project that shared the transit gateway as Owners, and the users of the project that received the shared transit gateway as Participants. The permissions for each function differ between the Owner and the Participant for the shared transit gateway.

Permissions

Owner

Owners have the following permissions:

  • Accept sharing settings for the transit gateway
    • Decide whether to allow participants to add Attachments automatically or manually
  • View all detailed resources of the shared transit gateway
    • Routing tables, topology, and project list of shared targets
  • Create resources on the shared transit gateway
  • Modify and delete resources directly created on the shared transit gateway

Participant

Participants can perform limited actions on the shared transit gateway:

  • View some information about the shared transit gateway
    • Details and information about Attachments created and connected by the participant
  • Connect Attachments created by the participant to the shared transit gateway
  • Some information about the Attachments created to connect to the shared transit gateway
    • Attachment ID, transit gateway name, transit gateway ID, resource type, resource name, resource ID, IP CIDR block
Restriction of participant permissions
  • When an Attachment created by a participant is connected to the shared transit gateway, details such as the routing table name and routing table ID are not displayed, and the routing table information of the shared transit gateway cannot be checked in the transit gateway > Routing Table menu.
  • There may be multiple participants on the Owner's transit gateway, and if such information is visible to participants, it could lead to unexpected security issues. Kakao Cloud provides a high level of security to prevent such issues.
