Subnet sharing

KakaoCloud VPC provides the subnet sharing feature. Using VPC subnet sharing, you can create resources such as instances and load balancers in a shared subnet from multiple projects in a centrally managed shared VPC structure.

Participants who have shared a subnet can create, modify, delete, and view resources in this subnet, but cannot perform these actions on resources created in this subnet by other participants.

Responsibilities and Permissions

The owner refers to the project that has shared the subnet, and the participant refers to the project that has shared the subnet. VPC subnet sharing is possible with other projects in the same domain, and the sharer and participant each have different responsibilities and permissions on this shared VPC.

Owner Resources

The owner is responsible for the VPC resources that he or she owns. Owners are responsible for creating, managing, and deleting resources associated with the shared VPC. These resources include:

  • Subnets
  • Routing Tables
  • Internet Gateways
  • Transit Gateways

Participant resources

Participants are responsible for the VPC resources they own. Participants can create limited resources in the shared VPC's subnets. These resources include:

  • Instances
  • Load Balancers
  • Other types of resources that can be created on VPC subnets

Participants cannot make any modifications or actions on the subnets shared with them by the owner, nor can they make any changes or actions on other participants' resources associated with the same subnet.
