View alert history and configure silence

View alert history

You can view alerts generated by configured alert policies.

  1. In the KakaoCloud console, go to one of the following menus.

    • Project-level alert history: Management > Alert Center > Alert history > Alerts
    • Organization-level alert history: Management > Alert Center for Organization > Alert history
  2. Check the alert history.

    Alert summaryInformation about the generated alert
    - Select [Details] to view additional information in the alert summary pop-up
    - You can move to Monitoring or Cloud Trail to view details
    SilenceFor metric alerts, select [Silence] to open the Silence settings pop-up and suppress alerts with the same conditions

  • If you receive a message through a notification channel when an alert occurs, you can select [Configure silence] in the message to access the Alert history page.
  • On mobile devices, selecting [Configure silence] takes you directly to the Silence settings page, where you can easily suppress alerts without configuring separate conditions.

Create silence

You can create a Silence to suppress alerts that occur repeatedly.

  1. Go to KakaoCloud console > Management > Alert Center.

  2. Select Alert history > Silences, then select [Create silence].

  3. Enter the information in the pop-up and select [Save].

    - Quick setting: Enter how long to keep the Silence from the current time
    - 2h (2 hours) is entered by default
    - Enter a value in weeks (w), days (d), hours (h), or minutes (m)
    - Custom setting: Select the start date/time and end date/time directly
    Silence conditions1. Service: Select the service to silence
    - Only services with alert policies can be selected
    2. Metric: Select the metric item to silence
    - To configure Silence only with specific labels without specifying a metric item, select All metrics
    - When All metrics is selected, at least one label value must be entered
    3. Label: Enter labels to silence
    - Label: Attribute assigned to identify metric data
    - Enter in key=value format
    - To check labels for a specific metric, go to Monitoring > Monitoring Explorer and search for the metric
    ReasonEnter the reason for creating the Silence

View silence

You can view Silence details.

  1. Go to KakaoCloud console > Management > Alert Center.

  2. Select Alert history > Silences and check the created Silence list.

     - The start time has arrived but the end time has not yet arrived
    - Pending: Pending
     - The start time has not yet arrived
    - Expired: Expired
     - The end time has arrived or the user manually expired the Silence

    LabelsLabels specified as Silence targets
    - If a metric item was selected when creating the Silence, the selected metric item is also displayed in the Labels column.
    [More] buttonDepending on the Silence status, Modify, Expire, Recreate, or Delete is available
    - Active or Pending Silence: Modify or Expire is available
    - Expired Silence: Recreate or Delete is available
    - Recreate creates a new Silence with the same conditions as the expired Silence

Modify silence

You can modify a Silence.

  1. Go to KakaoCloud console > Management > Alert Center.

  2. Select Alert history > Silences, then select [Modify] from the Silence list or Silence details page.

  3. Modify the information in the Modify silence pop-up and select [Save].

Delete silence

You can delete a Silence in the Expired state.

caution

If you delete an expired Silence, you cannot recreate it with the same conditions.

  1. Go to KakaoCloud console > Management > Alert Center.
  2. Select Alert history > Silences, then select [Delete] for an Expired Silence from the Silence list or Silence details page.
  3. Check the guidance in the Delete silence pop-up and select [Delete].
