Appendix. Configure real-time VM Evacuation alerts in Alert Center
This document explains step-by-step how to configure real-time notifications for VM Evacuation start and completion events using KakaoCloud Alert Center. By promptly recognizing VM Evacuation events during hypervisor maintenance or downtime, you can effectively respond. This guide outlines how to configure notification policies and reception channels.
Alert Center
KakaoCloud Alert Center allows you to set up notification policies and configure notification reception channels for service events and resource failure occurrences. By configuring alerts in Alert Center and receiving timely notifications, you can quickly identify and resolve issues.
VM Evacuation
Evacuation refers to the process of moving Virtual Machines from one host to another when a hypervisor is down or requires maintenance.
In KakaoCloud, when a hypervisor experiences downtime or maintenance in any region, instances on the affected hypervisor are automatically evacuated.
Procedures
Follow these steps to configure and receive real-time notifications for VM Evacuation start and completion events in Alert Center.
Step 1. Enter contact information
To ensure notifications are received properly, input your email address and mobile phone number accurately. For detailed instructions, refer to Modify account information.
Step 2. Create notification channels in Alert Center
In KakaoCloud Alert Center, you can create notification channels for alerts based on the risk level of computing resources.

Go to KakaoCloud Console > Management > Alert Center > Notification Channel.

Click the [Create notification channel] button to create and configure a channel to receive alerts.

Enter the channel information, select the channel type, and click the [Create] button.

Step 3. Create alert policy
You can configure event-based alert policies in KakaoCloud Alert Center.

In Alert Center > Notification Channels, click the [Create alert policy] button.

Set the required alert conditions and click the [Create] button.

Step 4. Verify notification receipt
