Create and manage notification channels

You can configure and manage notification channels and recipients for receiving alerts. The following describes how to create and manage notification channels in Alert Center.

Create notification channel

You can create a notification channel to receive alerts.

  1. In the KakaoCloud console, go to one of the following menus.

    • Project-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center > Notification channels
    • Organization-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center for Organization > Notification channels
  2. Select [Create notification channel].

  3. Enter the information on the notification channel creation page.

  4. Review the information and select [Create].

    Basic informationName: Notification channel name
    - Duplicate notification channel names are not allowed in the same project
    - The name can be modified after the notification channel is created
    Description: Description of the notification channel
    ChannelMain channel: Email, SMS, AlimTalk, Slack, webhook, or Pub/Sub
    - Detailed settings: Detailed settings are required when Slack, webhook (Slack integration only), or Pub/Sub is selected as the main channel
     - Slack: Connect a workspace, then enter the channel name including # (run a connection test with [Send test message] if needed)
     - Webhook: Enter an endpoint URL starting with http:// or https://
     - Pub/Sub: Select the Pub/Sub topic to receive alert messages
    Alternative channel: When enabled, alerts can be received through an alternative channel if sending to the main channel fails
    - Select one of the default channels (email, SMS, AlimTalk)
    - If the main channel is a default channel, the alternative channel uses the same recipient list
    Warning: The same channel as the main channel cannot be selected
    RecipientsRequired when the main channel is a default channel such as email, SMS, or AlimTalk
    - Select recipient type
     - User: Full user list in the organization/project
     - Group: All groups in the organization or groups with access to the project
    - Select multiple recipients (users or groups) to receive email, SMS, or AlimTalk
    Tip: Messages are sent based on the email of the cloud account or the mobile phone number entered in Console > top-right profile > Account information
    Notification channel usage settingsEnabled: Create the notification channel and use it for alert reception immediately
    Disabled: Create the notification channel but do not use it for alert reception
    Tip: Usage status can be changed after notification channel creation

Manage notification channel

You can view and manage created notification channels.

View notification channel list

You can view the list of created notification channels.

  1. In the KakaoCloud console, go to one of the following menus.

    • Project-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center > Notification channels
    • Organization-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center for Organization > Notification channels
  2. Check the notification channel list.

View notification channel details

You can view detailed information and usage status for a notification channel.

  1. In the KakaoCloud console, go to one of the following menus.

    • Project-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center > Notification channels
    • Organization-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center for Organization > Notification channels
  2. Select the notification channel whose details you want to view from the notification channel list.

  3. Check the information on the notification channel details page.

    Last updated: Created or last updated date and time
    Status: Notification channel usage status
    Last alert occurred: Time when an alert was last sent
    Notification channelMain channel: Channel used as the main alert recipient
    Alternative channel: Alternative channel used if alerts cannot be sent to the main channel
    RecipientsRecipient list configured for the notification channel
    UsageList of alert policies using this notification channel

Change notification channel information

You can modify a notification channel name and description.

  1. In the KakaoCloud console, go to one of the following menus.

    • Project-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center > Notification channels
    • Organization-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center for Organization > Notification channels
  2. Select [Change information] from the notification channel list or notification channel details page.

  3. Enter the information in the Change notification channel information pop-up.

  4. Review the information and select [Save].

Modify notification channel

You can modify a notification channel.
The same fields as notification channel creation can be modified.

  1. In the KakaoCloud console, go to one of the following menus.
    • Project-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center > Notification channels
    • Organization-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center for Organization > Notification channels
  2. Select [Modify] from the notification channel list or notification channel details page.
  3. Modify the information on the notification channel modification page.
  4. Review the information and select [Modify].

Change notification channel status

You can change the notification channel usage status to enabled or disabled.

  1. In the KakaoCloud console, go to one of the following menus.
    • Project-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center > Notification channels
    • Organization-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center for Organization > Notification channels
  2. Select [Enable] or [Disable] from the notification channel list or notification channel details page.
  3. In the notification channel usage settings pop-up, select [Enable] or [Disable].

Delete notification channel

You can delete a notification channel that is no longer in use.

caution

Deleted notification channels cannot be restored, so proceed with caution when deleting.

  1. In the KakaoCloud console, go to one of the following menus.
    • Project-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center
    • Organization-level notification channel management: Management > Alert Center for Organization
  2. Select the Notification channels menu, then select [Delete] from the notification channel list or notification channel details page.
  3. Enter permanently delete in the Delete notification channel pop-up and select [Delete].
