Create and manage alert policies
You can quickly identify and resolve issues in KakaoCloud services through alerts.
Alert policies can be configured based on three main types: metrics, logs, and events. Alert policies can be set per service, with alert conditions based on triggered events.
Alerts are sent to the designated notification channel when an event meeting the set conditions occurs. For more details on alert condition types and services that support alerts, refer to Alert Policy.
Create alert policy
You can create an alert policy based on events occurring in KakaoCloud services.
To create an alert policy, you must have at least one notification channel created in advance.
For details on creating a notification channel, refer to Create and manage notification channels.

Go to KakaoCloud Console > Management > Alert Center.

Click the [Getting started] button to begin using the Alert Center.
- When you start using the service, a Service agent is created to access Alert Center resources.

Click the Alert Policy menu (for organization users, click Alert policy (Organization)), then click the [Create alert policy] button.

In Create alert policy > Step 1: Set alert conditions, enter the information and click [Next].
Field Description Condition type Select the condition type for triggering alerts
- Metric: Set conditions based on metrics
- Log: Set conditions based on logs
- Event: Service-specific events in KakaoCloud

- Click the [Add condition] button to add more alert conditions, with each condition operating as a separate alert
* If duplicate alert events are set, they are stored as a single alert event condition -
In Create alert policy > Step 2: Set notification channels, enter the information and click [Next].
Field Description Notification channel Select the main channel type and notification channel
- If no notification channels are created, alert policy creation is not possible
- Notification channels can be created in the Alert Center > Notification channel tab
- You can check whether each notification channel is active (In Use, Not in Use)
* You can select inactive notification channels, but alerts will not be received -
In Create alert policy > Step 3: Set basic information, enter the required information and click [Next].
Field Description Alert policy name Enter the alert policy name
- Duplicate names are not allowed within the same project
- The name can be modified after creationDescription (Optional) Enter a description for the alert policy Status Choose whether to activate the alert policy
- If activated, the alert policy will be created and used immediately
- If not activated, the policy will only be created but not used
* The activation status can be changed after creation -
In Create alert policy > Step 4: Review, check the entered information and click [Create].
If an alert policy is created with an inactive notification channel, alerts will not be sent to that channel.
Manage alert policy
View alert policy
You can view the list of currently active alert policies.

Go to KakaoCloud Console > Management > Alert Center.

Click the Alert Policy menu (for organization users, click Alert policy (Organization)) and check the list of currently active alert policies.
Field Description Name The name of the alert policy saved during creation or modification Description The description of the alert policy saved during creation or modification Status Indicates whether the alert policy is active Condition type The condition type that triggers alerts Service The service targeted by the alert policy Last updated The date and time when the alert policy was created or last modified Last sent time The time when the last alert was sent for this policy [More] icon Click [More] to modify, change activation status, or delete individual alert policies
View alert policy details
You can view the detailed information of an alert policy.

Go to KakaoCloud Console > Management > Alert Center.

Click the Alert Policy menu (for organization users, click Alert policy (Organization)), then select the alert policy to view from the list.

Review the details on the alert policy details page.

Modify alert policy
You can modify an existing alert policy.

Go to KakaoCloud Console > Management > Alert Center.

Click the Alert Policy menu (for organization users, click Alert policy (Organization)), then click the [Update] button at the top-right of the alert policy list or details page.

In Step 1: Set alert conditions, enter the information and click [Next].

In Step 4: Review, check the entered information and click [Create].
Delete alert policy
You can delete an alert policy that is no longer in use.
Deleted policies cannot be restored, so proceed with caution when deleting.
- Go to KakaoCloud Console > Management > Alert Center.
- Click the Alert Policy menu (for organization users, click Alert policy (Organization)), then click the [Delete] button at the top-right of the alert policy list or details page.
- In the pop-up, enter the policy name to confirm deletion, and click [Delete].
