Cloud Trail Overview

KakaoCloud Cloud Trail automatically collects and records user activities, such as logins, resource creation, changes, deletions, etc. It is designed to easily track and manage user activities, allowing you to see what activities have been performed by whom. Whenever a specific user in KakaoCloud creates or modifies resources, all such activities are recorded through Cloud Trail.

You can view events from the console for the last 90 days for auditing purposes to ensure compliance with security policies. It also allows you to see recent activities in projects and whether unauthorized users have accessed or performed actions in the project.

The events collected by Cloud Trail are divided into organization events that occur at the organization level and project events that occur at the project level.

info

Monitoring of servers, services, service status, etc., rather than user activities, can be obtained from a monitoring service. For details, refer to the Monitoring.

Purpose and use cases

In a cloud environment without security monitoring, it can be challenging to detect security events in real-time and respond to them, leading to increased security risks. Even if security incidents occur, it may be difficult to trace their cause and scope. Therefore, it is recommended to use Cloud Trail to monitor and record all activities occurring in a cloud environment to detect cloud security and compliance violations, optimize resource usage, and detect abnormal activities.
