BNS Overview
What is Beyond Networking Service (BNS)?
KakaoCloud Beyond Networking Service (BNS) provides stable and fast services using various networking technologies and top-level infrastructure. It also supports seamless integration with Beyond Compute Service (BCS) and other cloud services through its excellent technical capabilities and compatibility.
Roles of BNS network
BNS offers network resources based on virtual networks, allowing you to easily create and control network tasks. These network resources include VPC, Transit Gateway, VPC's route table, Transit Gateway's route table, subnets, etc.
Network services help create scenarios that create private networks to isolate external connections, allow networks to communicate with each other, or disconnect, block, or distribute connections as needed. You can control network resources or separate network groups using APIs and strengthen data security with various mechanisms like firewalls, security group, Access Control Lists (ACLs), etc. External communications can be limited according to necessary rules, allowing for the construction of secure web services and applications.
You can utilize network resources to deploy virtual servers or assign network addresses, expanding the network as needed. Also, you can dynamically add or remove network resources to adapt your network environment to fit your business needs.
BNS features
High availability
Availability in cloud network services can be enhanced by distributing multiple resources (such as instances, containers, and IP addresses) across Single or Multi-AZ environments. You can design organic connections between various cloud services or directly use network services like Load Balancing and Transit Gateway.
KakaoCloud aims for uninterrupted service operation using stable and flexible network architecture and Multi-AZ. Responsibilities and compensations for service availability can be found in the SLA (Service Level Agreement).
Scalability
As many of KakaoCloud resources depend on the network, the network plays a very important role. To fully utilize cloud services and resources, the availability of applications and the network connectivity of the cloud must meet the requirements. When you design your network properly in this way, you can ensure connectivity between applications, access control, and enhanced remote connectivity, while building a continuously scalable architecture.
High performance
In cloud services, ‘high performance’ generally means having processing speed, large bandwidth, and high-performance resources in the infrastructure. High performance allows for flexible response to increased traffic or workload, and rapid expansion or reduction of resources. Performance can be optimized using advanced technologies and automation, efficiently handling tasks while maintaining high performance through automated provisioning, load balancing, etc.
KakaoCloud continuously invests and researches efficient processes to achieve high operational stability, offering high network processing speeds and low latency in a stable network environment.
BNS offerings
Cloud services provided by KakaoCloud can be categorized from a network perspective into two main groups: essential networking services and optional or unrelated networking services. Beyond Networking Service is a group of essential networking services, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Load Balancing, CDN, DNS. These services possess specialized network technologies and their main features from a networking perspective are as follows:
VPC
Provides highly stable network services through access control using logically isolated virtual private networks.
Load Balancing
Ensures service continuity and availability by distributing network traffic load to instances without failure.
CDN
A network service that delivers large web content quickly and reliably using a hierarchical and distributed network. These services are compatible within the KakaoCloud network environment, providing desired cloud services to you.
DNS
Uses high-performance DNS servers to manage domain names and rapidly resolve IP addresses on the internet. DNS servers reduce network traffic and shorten response times using cached information.
Transit Gateway
Connects multiple VPCs and on-premises networks, allowing for a centralized network configuration. Supports Multi-AZ environments, enhancing overall system availability and enabling architecture for rapid disaster recovery (DR).
