Appendix. Use VM Import service
With the VM Import service, you can easily add VM instances, custom images, or disks from your existing environment to KakaoCloud's Computing service.
This enables you to efficiently migrate existing virtualized images or instances and manage and run them in the cloud.
info
- The VM Import service is available only in private network environments.
Service features
- Perform security procedures to ensure safe and continuous Computing service
- Perform validation procedures to prevent tampering or unauthorized modification of images
VM Import procedures
-
VM Export
- In this step, necessary data and configuration details are collected to export the virtual machine (VM). This may include the current state and settings of the VM.
-
Offline delivery/intake
- The collected VM data and configuration information are processed for offline delivery or prepared for intake. This step involves coordinating the method of data transfer.
-
Image security inspection
- The delivered VM data and configuration are reviewed to ensure compliance with security policies. This step verifies the legality and stability of the VM image.
-
Transfer to Public Zone
- VM images that pass the security inspection are moved to the Public Zone. At this point, the image becomes available in a publicly accessible environment.
-
Create and assign VM
- A new VM is created and assigned based on the image transferred to the public zone. This step activates the virtual machine instance for user access.
-
Notify completion
- Completion of the VM Import service is communicated to relevant stakeholders or users. This updates the project status and enables associated workflows.
